This study explores prosodic accommodation phenomena within a Tele- tandem and Intercomprehension context, that is a language learning sce- nario in which two students interact in their own L1 by means of VoIP technologies (e.g., Skype). The analysis focusses on 3 Teletandem sessions whose participants are an Italian student and a Spanish student. Results show a gradual alignment of speakers’ articulation rate and a gradual re- duction of simultaneous turn-taking episodes and interruptions/overlaps in the 3 sessions. These trends could reflect some of the multiple strategies used by both speakers to adapt their linguistic production and to improve the effectiveness of interaction.
