Ritratto di un Maestro: Paolo Emilio Cassandro

This article presents a short biography of the Italian scholar Paolo Emilio Cassandro and a bibliographic review of his works. Paolo Emilio Cassandro's scientific position is also analysed, highlighting how it is the result of the combination of different influences (Fabio Besta, Eugen Schmalenbach, Gino Zappa and Aldo Amaduzzi). Furthermore, the analysis focuses on the concept of "azienda" (entity), construed as a community, and on the resultant roles attributed to the concepts of profit and management rationality.
