Near-Miss Management Systems (NMMSs) are important tools in support of safety management in the workplace, despite the absence of a technical standard for the implementation of such systems. The adoption of a NMMS can support different perspectives on safety, such as Safety I and Safety II. This chapter presents reflections on the main processes that should be incorporated into a NMMS and describes how a NMMS can enhance accident prevention and safety culture through the different safety perspectives. A case study of a NMMS is presented which describes the application of a NMMS that supports Safety I and Safety II perspectives.

Abstract
Near-Miss Management Systems (NMMSs) are important tools in support of safety management in the workplace, despite the absence of a technical standard for the implementation of such systems. The adoption of a NMMS can support different perspectives on safety, such as Safety I and Safety II. This chapter presents reflections on the main processes that should be incorporated into a NMMS and describes how a NMMS can enhance accident prevention and safety culture through the different safety perspectives. A case study of a NMMS is presented which describes the application of a NMMS that supports Safety I and Safety II perspectives.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
