The objective of this article is to retrace the history of the interpretations of Tert., Apol. 9,2, to demonstrate the reasons why the text (ad proconsulatum Tiberii) can be accepted without problems and finally to underline the contribution that the passage offers to the chronology and more generally to the interpretation of Apologeticum.
