In line with the growing importance of Climate change to the economy and the increased data available demonstrating its financial impact on banks and from banks, different organisations and initiatives have been set up in recent years to promote the fight against Climate change and to spread unique global standards. To ensure that economies are more stable and resilient to climate and environmental risks, and markets are more efficient, it is necessary for institutions to become aware of their exposure to such risks and to disclose comprehensive and transparent information about them. This work aims to analyse the public disclosure of climate and environmental risks of the 50 largest banks in the world. The objective is to understand whether and how the largest existing banking institutions disclose their climate exposures, but also the strategies, methods and tools they use to identify, assess and manage climate-related risks.
