A reduced mechanism for the prediction of methane/air flames impinged by external electric fields is presented in this work. This mechanism is composed of 26 species and 134 reactions and predicts the electric current produced by a burner stabilized flame with similar accuracy as the state-of-the-art mechanisms while using a fraction of their species and reactions. Thus, the proposed mechanism guarantees a significant reduction of the computational cost without penalties in the accuracy of electrified methane/air flames calculations.

Abstract
A reduced mechanism for the prediction of methane/air flames impinged by external electric fields is presented in this work. This mechanism is composed of 26 species and 134 reactions and predicts the electric current produced by a burner stabilized flame with similar accuracy as the state-of-the-art mechanisms while using a fraction of their species and reactions. Thus, the proposed mechanism guarantees a significant reduction of the computational cost without penalties in the accuracy of electrified methane/air flames calculations.File in questo prodotto:
