The article presents the Dialogus in astrologiae defensionum by Giovanni Abioso da Bagnolo. The Dialogus (Venice, 1494) falls within the sphere of the querelle against astrology caused by the pubblication of Giovanni Pico della Mirandola's Disputationes adversus astrologiae divinatricem. On the basis of the auctoritas of Ptolomy and Albumasar, Abioso defends the role of astrology against the accusation of it being a scientia superstitiosa. Asserting its conjectural nature, he defines astrology as a supreme scientia and divine sapientia.

Abstract
The article presents the Dialogus in astrologiae defensionum by Giovanni Abioso da Bagnolo. The Dialogus (Venice, 1494) falls within the sphere of the querelle against astrology caused by the pubblication of Giovanni Pico della Mirandola's Disputationes adversus astrologiae divinatricem. On the basis of the auctoritas of Ptolomy and Albumasar, Abioso defends the role of astrology against the accusation of it being a scientia superstitiosa. Asserting its conjectural nature, he defines astrology as a supreme scientia and divine sapientia.File in questo prodotto:
