Osmium-doped tin oxide thin films were prepared by means of sol-gel technique. Their methane sensing properties were studied and compared to undoped SnO2 thin films. The good sensitivity to methane at a low working temperature makes them very attracting active materials to be used in domestic CH4 leak-detectors.

Abstract
