The same reaction, carried out with a molar ratio 1:2 (Co complex : NO), gave Co3(NO)7(Ph3P)3, capable of catalyzing the disproportionation of NO. The ir spectrum of the trimeric complex indicated terminal and bridging NO ligands. [Co(NO)2(Ph3P)2]2(μ-N2O2) was prepd. from CoCl(NO)2(Ph3P) and Na2N2O2.

Abstract
