Intermol. transfer of the nitrosyl ligand in RhNOL3 and CoNOL3 to NiCl2L2, CoClL3, CoCl2L2, Co(dpe)2(ClO4)2, FeCl2dpe [L = PPh3; dpe = 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane] readily occurs at room temp. On treating RhNOL3 with tritylium and Ag perchlorates, the cationic species [RhL3(Me2CO)]+ and [Rh(NO2)L2]+ were obtained. IR spectroscopic evidence of the formation of a nitrosyl bridge is cited.
