The aim of the paper is to analyse the pollitical culture and identity of the antiglobalist activists with particular regard to main european national components. The Author exposes data from a survey carried out during the first European Social Forum, held in Florence (November 2002). It emerges as a polymorfous movement with activists that share an egalitarian and participative idea of democracy. Also they have a different conceprion of Europe and of the role of political institutions in contemporary globalized democracies.
