The Marine Biology Museum “Pietro Parenzan” promoted an investigation for evaluating the knowledge about the illegality of fishing, sale and consume of date-mussels (one of the most important ecological problems for the marine environment in the sutided area). The results showed that the local population was not correctly informed even after an action of media which lasted 15 years. Based on the results found, the Museum suggests a strategy to be adopted for a more efficient education of the population.

Abstract
