The influence of heat treatments, microstructure evolution and particle damage were investigated for thixocasting aluminum alloys. Thixocasting process was defined as semisolid casting process which was characterized by mechanical properties, low porosity content and homogeneous microstructure. The hardness and electrical conductivity measurements also determined aging effects. The evaluation of fracture mechanism on Si broken particles to describe damages was observed by scanning electron microscopy.

Abstract
