LearnWeb is an online learning and competence development environment developed at the L3S research institute (University of Hannover, D) which has recently integrated a set of affordances aimed at supporting students of dialogue interpreting in autonomous terminology management-and-acquisition work, and at assisting teachers in overseeing the students’work from a distance. In particular, LearnWeb has been expanded with a tool for the creation of glossaries, a tracking system for logging students’searches on the Web, and a learning analytics system to support teachers in monitoring their students’progresses in the creation of personal glossaries and in their use of Web resources. This chapter presents these newly developed tools, with particular emphasis on the theoretical and pedagogical aspects that informed the development of these affordances. Furthermore, it offers some ideas of how the system could be used for teaching and research purposes in the field of interpreting.
