The article explores the beginning of the diplomatic relations between the Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies starting in April 1740 with the signature of a Treaty of peace, commerce and Navigation. In particular, it analysis the official visit of the Ottoman envoy, Haci Hüseyin Efendi, to Naples and the politics of pageantry at Neapolitan court.
