The contribute is a reflection on the experience of online teaching experienced by students of the Italian school in an emergency period due to the pandemic determined by Covid1. Taking a cue from some data collected in the local area in the immediacy of the distance teaching experience, the topics of the: digital divide, new isolation, student contact suffering and new marginalization and diversity are discussed. The script tries to highlight the strengths and critical points of the distance learning experience and, in conclusion, brings attention to the needs of relationship, socialization and emotional education and cognitive self-regulation, which aspects to which to turn attention pedagogical to the resumption of activities in presence.
