Fiber-reinforced composite materials have gained an increasing success, mostly for strengthening, retrofitting and repair existing structures. Simultaneously with this successful development, the engineering sector is required to overcome the problems related to the compatibility between the reinforcement and the substrate and the durability of the materials. Therefore mortar based composite systems consisting of fibre composite materials and calcium based matrix can be used as reinforcement of both concrete and masonry structures. In the present paper the bond behaviour between FRM materials and masonry substrate is studied by means single face shear test. The results underlined as the type of reinforcement considerably influence the bond behaviour in term of both bond strength and mode of failure. © 2016 Taylor & Francis Group, London.
