In recent years European philosophical historiography has registered an ever more intense interest in the fields of research in which real contact points between humanistic and scientific culture can be found. The comprehension of science on the one hand, and of the evolution of history and thought on the other hand, are central in the two fundamental fields for the economic, social and cultural development of humanity: the building of human capital and the development and safeguarding of democracy.
