The results of an experimental study on the effects of temperature on mechanical properties of FRP rebars, based on vinylester resin as matrix and carbon fibers, are presented. A marked decrease in elastic modulus, tensile and bending strength with the increase of temperature occurs in the neat resin. The long-time deformability of the resin, calculated through tensile creep tests, strongly depends on temperature. A procedure of step-wise loading has been used as a control in order to check the deformation model.

Abstract
The results of an experimental study on the effects of temperature on mechanical properties of FRP rebars, based on vinylester resin as matrix and carbon fibers, are presented. A marked decrease in elastic modulus, tensile and bending strength with the increase of temperature occurs in the neat resin. The long-time deformability of the resin, calculated through tensile creep tests, strongly depends on temperature. A procedure of step-wise loading has been used as a control in order to check the deformation model.File in questo prodotto:
