Partnership Id-Entities. Cultural and Literary Re-Inscription/s of the Feminine

The essays collected in this volume investigate the presence, meaning and implications of what Riane Eisler defines partnership/dominator configurations in relation to the formation of our Id-entities (personal, collective, social, and cultural). They draw upon the most recent investigations into the cultural evolution of Western societies, underlying the tension between ‘equalitarian’ and ‘dominator’ modes of living, in order to explore the strategies used by some prominent writers in English to move away from the cultural hegemony and ideology of the Empire and recover an historical and mythical “past”, especially the ‘native’ one.
