The essay aims at conducting a recognition of the principal curricular models, by using the methodology of the ontological analysis, which primarily intends to clarify “what the curriculum is and what is its role within an educational/teaching theory?”. We have identified at least four distinct classes of models, that may be schematized as follows: Curriculum as a cultural container; Curriculum as a set of rules; Curriculum as an organizational guide; Curriculum as a criterion for selecting projects. The most important theoretical proposals coming from international scientific literature can be easily recognized in the four above-mentioned curriculum models. After considering the so-called implicit curriculum and the hidden curriculum, a new perspective and a new model can be proposed as both an hermeneutical structure and a functional mediator of teaching action. The analysis of the models will be conducted by focusing on the educational process at school and on the efforts exerted in the fields of the professional training and the adult education.

Abstract
The analysis of the models will be conducted by focusing on the educational process at school and on the efforts exerted in the fields of the professional training and the adult education.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
