THE PHYSICS OF LHC: THEORETICAL TOOLS & EXPERIMENTAL CHALLENGES to be held from May 20-25, 2004 in Martignano (Lecce, Italy). The aim of the school is to bring together young experimentalists and theorists and help them learn about the tools for physics at the LHC. It is addressed to Italian and Greek Ph.D. students or post-docs, in both experimental and theoretical high-energy physics. The theory lectures will be aimed mainly towards experimentalists and the experimental lectures to theorists. A total of approximately 32 hours of lectures will be delivered: 50% Th., 50% Exp. Two afternoons will be left free for excursions. The site of the School is the Palazzo Palmieri in Martignano, 18 km from Lecce (Italy). Martignano is located in the Grecìa Salentina, a linguistic island of Griko - an old language related to Greek. The School fee is 120 euro. This will cover lunches and social events. A number of Greek participants (around ten) will receive a studentship (covering the school fee, accommodation and living expenses) offered by the Unione della Grecìa Salentina. The numbers of students will be limited at around 50. All participants will be accommodated at the Hotel delle Palme, located in Lecce, within walking distance of the city center. The rate for a double room is 40 euros per person per day. A few single rooms are also available on request. Transportation from the Hotel to the School site will take place by bus and will be provided by the Organizing Committee. The School is sponsored by the INFN, CERN, the Universita' di Lecce, the Provincia di Lecce, the Unione dei Comuni della Grecìa Salentina, and the Banca Popolare Pugliese.
