Researches are held on the wall paintings of the Mawa Wala Akhara of Nathdwara in Rajasthan, one of the most important places of pilgrimage dedicated to Lord Krishna as Shri Nathji. The paintings represent scenes of the Krishna life and of the more important ceremonies and festivals held in the main temple in the town, which are individuated also with the help of other paintings, mostly miniature paintings or drawings, and described according to the tradition. The king of the Mewar state, Bhim Singh, and the great priest of the temple, Goswami Dauji II, are also been recognized. The iconographical and stylistical analysis give us the possibility to date the paintings.
