This paper examines theory of mind in deaf children. It first outlines the conditions in which deaf child grow up. Then it examines the reasons for studying theory of mind development in deaf children, and the studies carried out up to now on the subject. It concludes with the results of a study on the development of false belief understanding in deaf children, which takes the affective relational context into consideration.
