Abstract

This study demonstrated that sea breams cultured both in a semi-intensive and intensive system, present a physiological state comparable to that of wild individuals coming from extensive aquaculture. Fish reared with different culture systems can compete with wild specimens in terms of flesh quality and safety for food consumption.
