Ontologies are at present, the core part of knowledge bases and an important agent for indexing content and creating knowledge management system. Knowledge Hub (KH) is a complex knowledge management system enabling Regional Innovation Leadership (RIL). The core of its architectural model is a knowledge base composed by several domain ontologies. A set of integrated tools allow users to interact with the knowledge base and among them. It aims to maximize the efficacy of content retrieving process, providing semantic indexing to the documents of the knowledge base. Abstract

The semantic of documents is expressed by a set of RDF statements, according to ontologies represented in RDFS. The paper goes through a brief introduction to RIL cycle and how KH can support it. Then the five layers of the KH structure will be presented, together with the technological architecture of the KH. Finally, we illustrate the content management system and its tools, with a particular focus on the indexer. Conclusions and special acknowledgements will end the paper.
