Bond performance between reinforcement and concrete has a fundamental role in the analysis of structural behaviour of reinforced concrete members; a reliable bond model, as well as a standard bond test is not jet available for FRP rebars reinforced concrete. To this aim, an experimental analysis on bond between different FRP rebars and concrete has been carried out. The analysis has been focused to the influence of surface treatments on bond between reinforcement and concrete. In particular, the bond-slip law and the failure mechanisms at the interface rebars-concrete have been evaluated. Therefore different types of FRP rebars have been tested: sanded, ribbed, sanded and spiral wound with fibers. Two types of tests have been performed: traditional and modified pull-out test. In the modified pull-out test the compression on the concrete has been eliminated. Results obtained are presented and discussed; in particular the influence of surface treatments are analysed in term of bond mechanisms. Deformation performed on the rebars seems very effective both in terms of peak bond stress and slip, even if significant different have been found depending on the kind of surface deformation treatment. On the other hand, only sanded rebars show a very poor bond performance mostly due to the chemical adhesion and friction at the interface.
