Abstract

The MODA–ML project defines an architecture of message exchange that assumes ebXML framework as a reference. It is based on a set of XML schemas built on top of a vocabulary of XML business components. Differently from widespread ASP models, our idea is to enable direct data exchanges on a bilateral basis, without any dependence on the presence of ASP centres as intermediaries. This paper also presents a set of tools that has been provided to enforce this architecture and some results about the experimentation carried out with a group of leading Italian T/C manufacturers that have decided to adopt the project’s results.
