The main goal of the KLOE experiment at DAFNE, the Frascati PHI factory, is to measure Re(epsilon'/epsilon) with a precision of 10^-4. The KLOE installation was successfully completed in December 1998 and the data collected in 1999, corresponding to an integral luminosity of 2.4 pb-1, show a detector performance fully satisfying the design specifications. The observation of the first CP violating events and the preliminary results on Phi radiative decays demonstrate the good physics capabilities of the experiment, which is now waiting for operating at the DAFNE design luminosity.

Abstract
The main goal of the KLOE experiment at DAFNE, the Frascati PHI factory, is to measure Re(epsilon'/epsilon) with a precision of 10^-4. The KLOE installation was successfully completed in December 1998 and the data collected in 1999, corresponding to an integral luminosity of 2.4 pb-1, show a detector performance fully satisfying the design specifications. The observation of the first CP violating events and the preliminary results on Phi radiative decays demonstrate the good physics capabilities of the experiment, which is now waiting for operating at the DAFNE design luminosity.File in questo prodotto:
