The behavior of different composites, based on polymeric thermosetting matrices and employed for the restoration of concrete structures, in relation to the most common service conditions, was analyzed. In particular, the durability of these composites if exposed to higher temperatures than ordinary ambient temperature (hot climate), to humid ambient and to water, was investigated. To this aim, mechanical tests were performed on composite materials before and after the exposition to these artificially simulated severe environments. The same severe conditions were simulated also on samples of the matrix resins and their effects on the physical (thermal, mechanical) properties of these resins, were analyzed. Two different thermosetting matrix resins were considered, i.e. an epoxy resin and a vinyl ester resin.
