The use of Fabric Reinforced Cementitious Matrix (FRCM) and Composite Reinforced Mortar (CRM) is nowadays a suitable solution for the strengthening of the masonry built heritage, particularly in seismic areas. In this context a promising application seem to be the use of these strengthening materials to improve the shear performance of masonry panels as confirmed by the several experimental investigations available in the technical literature. With the aim to enlarge the knowledge the assessment of numerical models could play a fundamental role; they should be suitable to deepen the incidence of the most relevant parameters on this type of strengthening. In this paper, advanced numerical models have been developed using the experimental results of diagonal compression tests on FRCM and CRM strengthened masonry panels. A parametric analysis was also carried out in order to investigate about the main parameters affecting the global response of the masonry panels.
